What happened on Friday was one of the best days of April. Just like Thursday, it was another Disney event. It was a magical night. What they did was take a previously filmed Disney concert filled with Disney songs and combine them with live interviews with the host (with Disney stars of course). This was with Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS, but this time the donations was for Corona Virus.
There is something magical about the world of Disney. I heard songs from shows such as Newsies, Hercules, Moana, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc. Hearing those interviews made it even more magical.
At the beginning of April, Anastasia was postponed. I did NOT know if the month would have any highlights. But with the two Disney events, I finally was seeing highlights in the month. In the exact same weekend, two more showed up- a Met Streaming of Madame Butterfly (a new opera to me) and Phantom (Andrew Lloyd Webber’s the Show Must Go On- the 25th Anniversary).
Expect reviews on the other two for future blog posts.
Sounds like this was a really cool event! Unfortunately, I missed this one too! I’ll have to keep my eye out for events like these in the future!
