Not only musicals are meaningful, but worship is just as important. Christian music is loved the same as musical theatre. What are some of the Christian songs I love. Part of Kanuga songs, part Gathering songs, and part church songs.
- Prince of Peace
- For the Beauty of the Earth
- Great are You Lord
- Fierce
- You Raise Me Up
- Power to Redeem
- What a Beautiful Name
- One Thing Remains
- Anchor-Bethel
- Good, Good Father
- Come to the River
- Eye of the Storm
- I Can Only Imagine
- Lord, I Lift Your Name on High
- Sanctuary
- Servant Song- double meaning (Kanuga and Bristol Pilgrimage)
- Create in Me
- We are Marching in the Light of God
- Peace before US
- All are Welcome
- Call to Discipleship
- On Eagle’s Wings
- I, the Lord of Sea and Sky (which is my favorite hymn)
There are others I love, but gave some wonderful Christian songs. I discovered these songs at different times in my life. I grew up with Kanuga, and once a year our Parish would go there for Parish Weekends- from 2003-2008, I was around songs like Sanctuary, Lord, I Lift Your Name on High, Sanctuary, and Servant song; We are Marching in the Light of God.
Then for 11th and 12th grade, I attended Winterlight, which is a high school youth conference—it happens December 27th-January 1st: that was one of the best times I was at Kanuga: Prince of Peace does stand out the most. It was Winterlight where I truly discovered I had a strong spirit and where I fell in love with Contemporary Christian music. At the Gathering at Gardner Webb, I was around songs like Good, Good Father; Come to the River; Great are you Lord, Power to Redeem, etc.
Then at actual church services, I learned to love songs like On Eagles Wings; I, the Lord of Sea and Sky; All are Welcome; and “Call to Discipleship”. Some of the others, just fell in love with them by discovering them through other events, Pandora or the Radio.
I don’t listen to much contemporary Christian music–there are a few songs that I’ve come across over the years and have really fallen in love with–but I love lots of hymns. They are often so comforting to me!

Many of these songs are played pretty often on my church!! On Eagles Wings is usually played at funerals but, it’s deep and meaningful. I, the Lord of Sea and Sky Is such a great one, just thinking about it brings a smile to my face😂❤️

In my church, it is more a collection of hymns we sing.
In the past, On Eagle’s Wings and I, the Lord of Sea Sky were played more often.
Our church has two hymnals- the red one (which is more traditional) and a green one (more contemporary)
