My Classics Club List

I decided to take up the challenge of reading 50 classics in 5 years. This ranges from old classics to new classics to retellings of classics. In order to become a member of The Classics Club, you do have read that number of classics in at most five years. Seriously, that sounded daunting, but considering the fact that I read a lot of classics this year and will read a bunch next year made me more confident I will finish the challenge in less than five years.

  1. Tom Sawyer- finished
  2. Little Women- finished
  3. Bleak House- finished
  4. The Golden Compass- finished
  5. The Subtle Knife- finished
  6. The Amber Spyglass – finished
  7. Secret Garden- finished
  8. Anna Karenina- finished
  9. Mayor of Casterbridge- finished
  10. Wind in the Willows- finished, but never reviewed
  11. The Iliad- finished
  12. Odyssey- finished
  13. Spinning Silver- finished, but haven’t reviewed
  14. A Treasury of Hans Christian Anderson- there are short stories, which means I would have read a number for 2020

  17. Tess of the u’urbervilles

  33. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
  34. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
  35. Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe
  36. Prince Caspian
  37. Voyage of the Dane Treader
  38. The Silver Chair
  39. The Horse and His Boy
  40. The Magician’s Nephew
  41. The Last Battle
  42. Anne of Green Gables
  43. Peter Pan
  44. Wizard of OZ
  45. The Hobbit
  46. Fellowship of the Ring
  47. Two Towers
  48. Return of the King
  49. Ella Enchanted
  50. Oliver Twist
  51. Tale of Two Cities
  52. Wrinkle in Time
  53. Great Expectations
  54. Les Misérables

This might sound surprising, but I think I will actually finish 50 books this year. That is because this year consisted of a lot of easy reads. Those easy reads were Spinning Silver, Wind in the Willows, Tom Sawyer, Little Women, Secret Garden, and a bunch of short stories. Considering the fact that I read some short stories, that will total this year to almost 50 books.

The actual rereads are from the bottom of the list- starting from the Harry Potter Series. Technically, this list is over 53 reads. I will continue reading as the years go on.
