I found this tag over at Millay’s Musings, and due to being a fantasy fan, I couldn’t refuse.
What is your fantasy origin story? (The first fantasy novel): honestly I don’t know. Most likely it was either starting Narnia or Harry Potter- those two series are what made me fall in love with fantasy. Yes, started on the films and eventually reading the books.
If you could be the hero/heroine in a fantasy novel, who would be the author and what’s one trope you insist be in the story? Well, I am thinking maybe I would be the author. I always wanted to write a fantasy novel set in an expansive world- I know that the setting would be on an island. One trope I insist- that is difficult because I struggle with knowing what the different tropes are.
What is a fantasy series you’ve read this year, that you want more people to read? Well, I only read one series this year due to being in 2021. That would be Howl’s series. However still have some fantasy series suggestions- Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Shades of Magic and Nevermoor (haven’t read this one yet)
What is your favourite fantasy subgenre? What subgenre have you not read much from? I know what subgenres are, but actually don’t know my favorite and don’t know which subgenre have not heard much from.
What is one of your auto-buy fantasy authors? That never really came to mind until most recently. Due to already loving Uprooted and Spinning Silver, Nomai Novik came straight to mind. I already, on my kindle, bought His Majesty’s Dragon.
How you typically find fantasy recommendations? (Goodreads, Youtube, Podcast, Instagram…). Well, I don’t find recommendations on any of those. I do find recommendations at Park Road Books, who are really good at recommending books. Once I fall in love with the first book in a series, I usually buy the others. Some recommendations actually have come from the blogosphere. Yes, my dad recommends books to me, but not fantasy- only classics.
What is an upcoming fantasy release you’re excited for? Well, I am really looking forward to the rest of Nevermoor series to be released. Don’t know when I will have the rest of the collection- due to buying the first two at a bookstore, the others belong to the actual copy instead of Kindle.
What is one misconception about fantasy you would like to lay to rest? I don’t think I have one.
If someone had never read a fantasy before and asked you to recommend the first 3 books that came to mind as places to start, what would those recommendations be? This is kinda of difficult due to most of my fantasy reads being in a series. For middle grade, I am thinking Narnia, but starting at Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. In terms of adult, I would say The Hobbit- that does give you an idea if you will love the Lord of the Rings series. The 3rd is tough- I will recommend another middle grade- Land of Stories (that book makes you see other Fairy Tale creatures you are familiar with and new ones).
Who is the most recent fantasy reading content creator you came across that you’d like to shoutout? Well, my most recent really belong to the Howl’s creator. Yes, it can be a bit strange and weird, but it eventually connects. You have to read Howl’s Moving Castle first in order to understand the other two.

In addition, I tag other fantasy authors
This is such a fun tag, and I love your answers. I haven’t read the Howl’s series yet, but it sounds really interesting! Thanks for tagging me! 🙂
