Fantasy Fandom Tag

I found this on Maya Joelles blog posts that interested me.

What was the first fandom you Fell Into? I know it was either Narnia or Harry Potter, but don’t know what came first. Those are the two series that made me fall in love with fantasy. As a matter of fact, I believe fans of Harry Potter will also love Lord of the Rings.

I really think J.K Rowling got a lot of inspiration from Lord of the Rings. With Lord of the Rings, I would start on The Hobbit. Look- Frodo/Sam relationship, Merry/Pippin relationship, Ring/Horcrux, Dark Lords, Spider Attacks- if you look at these carefully, you will notice there is something similar to each of these in both the series. At the same time, they are so different from each other.

What is the most recent fandom you became a part of? I am thinking maybe The Shades of Magic fandom. I can’t stop thinking about Kell and Lila. Their world is hard to describe. Think 18th century London- split into four parallel, but vastly different ones. Those worlds are described in colors- Black, Grey, White, and Red. The series has various types of magic- fire, earth, wind, water, and the odd one, which is blood. Blood magic is how the Antari move to each London- as long as they have a token from that world.

Star Wars or Star Trek? This is easy (only saw one of them). That belongs to Star Wars- I love the entire universe along with the Jedi. I saw all of the movies from Phantom Menace to Rise of Skywalker. I really loved the most recent trilogy especially because we finally get a girl as a Jedi.

DC or Marvel? Neither. I dislike both Marvel and DC.

What is a Fandom you Love enough to Want to live in that World? This is difficult. Either Hogwarts, Middle Earth, or Narnia.

If you Could hang out with a Character from one of your Fandoms, who would it Be and why? I usually struggle with this: choosing a character from one of my fandoms to spend time with. There are multiple answers to this question.

Unknown Fandom (something you love but nobody else seems to have heard of) Perhaps the Howl’s series. Lots of people may have heard of Howl’s Moving Castle, but may not be aware its part of a series.

  1. This looks like a fun tag; it was fun to read about all of the different fandoms you’re a part of. Fandoms can be a really enjoyable piece of reading and enjoying stories!
    My answers:
    1) I can’t really remember what fandom was my first… if I had to make a guess, it’d probably be Harry Potter.
    2) The most recent fandom I got into… probably The Lunar Chronicles.
    3) Star Wars for me too! Like you, I haven’t watched Star Trek.
    4) I’m more of a Marvel person than a DC person.
    5) I think I’d probably choose to live in Middle Earth! I think there’d be so much to explore and that it’d be pretty awesome!
    6) Hmm, this is difficult! I don’t really know… maybe I’ll just go with Luna Lovegood.
    7) Maybe The Neverending Story by Michael Ende? I don’t think it’s entirely unknown, but it’s not the most well-known either!
