Cinderella Review- Rodgers and Hammerstein

Most recently, Rodgers and Hammerstein Cinderella ended up on Disney+. It was the Brandy and Whitney Houston one- I believe years ago, I actually watched this movie. I now have another favorite R and H musical. Cinderella is an incredible musical. Now, about the movie:

Cast

We had a very talented cast. Brandy was our Cinderella and loved her in the role. Love seeing Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother. Brandy- loved her in every scene I saw her in. These are the only two actors I can say. In addition, Paolo Montalban was an incredible Prince, and we finally have the Prince’s name: Christopher. I loved seeing this musical with actors of color.

Songs

What is a good musical without incredible songs?.

  1. Impossible/It’s Possible- see those are one song
  2. In My Own Little Corner
  3. Ten Minutes
  4. Etc- meaning the other songs

Cinderella is officially become one of my favorite Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals.

  1. My family got Disney+ around Christmas, so I was really happy when this movie showed up on there a few weeks back! We have the DVD, but there was something exciting about seeing it on Disney+ and we watched it almost right away! 😂 I just think this movie is so well done; the set and costume designs make it so lively and fun to watch, and as you mentioned, the actors all did a really good job.
