When it comes to books, many people know I am a fantasy and classic fan. I decided to write a list of recommendations today. There will be both fantasy and classics on here- specifically YA and children.
Spinning Silver- Naomi Novik
Well, this is a Rumplstilskin retelling. Yes, I usually don’t read retellings, but this was an exception. That was a result of already falling in love with Naomi Novik. I previously learned to love Uprooted (another book I would recommend), and that would lead to me giving SS a chance. SS feels very original- from the protagonist to the world, etc……

Shades of Magic- V.E. Schwab
This was my favorite series of 2020. I was recommended the first book by Park Road Books. The moment I read the first paragraph, I fell in love with it. If you love character-driven, lots of suspense, different kinds of magic, the city of London, and a fast-paced story, you will love the series.
Land of Stories- Chris Colfer (Kurt from Glee)
That’s right, the author of this series is the actor, who played Kurt from Glee. Now, I am recommending a middle grade series. Well, the series does combine well-known fairy tale characters with brand new characters. That is one of the fun parts of this series.
The Movie Musical
Time for a nonfiction recommendation. As a musical theatre nut, I loved reading this book.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians- Rick Riordan
Yes, I read the series in middle school, but am rereading it now. I still haven’t read Heroes of Olympus; so I am reading Percy Jackson to prepare me for the sequel. It is a fun series to read over the summer.
Secret Garden
This is a book that truly feels like a Fairy Tale. The wonders that a garden can do.

Chronicles of Narnia- C.S. Lewis
This is another classic that will fun to read over the summer. I would recommend reading by publication. Gives more magic and wonder that way.

I have been meaning to read stuff by Naomi novik and V.E forever! Thanxk for sharing meg ❤️
