A Christmas Carol Review

After reading Man Who Invented Christmas, I went to A Christmas Carol. This is a reread of A Christmas Carol.

Though London awaits the joyful arrival of Christmas, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge thinks it’s all humbug, berating his faithful clerk and cheerful nephew for their view. Later, Scrooge encounters the ghost of his late business partner, who warns that three spirits will visit him this night. The ghosts take Scrooge on a journey through his past, present and future in the hope of transforming his bitterness

Of all Dickens’ books, this is my favorite. In so many ways, A Christmas Carol truly captures the spirit of Christmas. From a bunch of characters to love- Scrooge, Mr. Cratchit, Tiny Tim, etc… Each of the three ghosts come to help teach Scrooge a lesson- lessons that will help him become a better person. There is family, compassion, and the spirit of Christmas shown through the story. There is a reason why it is so well known.
