January 2023 Evensong

It is a known fact that I have a strong spirit. Ever since Bristol, Evensong became tradition at church. When we do have Evensong, it is shared between three choirs. So, what is special about Evensong?

Bristol Pilgrimage

If you have followed me for a while, you would have heard of this particular pilgrimage. Evensong was first seen during this trip- choir, family, and prisoners attended. In total, there were 72 pilgrims. It was hard to know how transforming this particular pilgrimage would be. Only because it was my first pilgrimage and first time in England.

If my church never went to Bristol, Evensong wouldn’t be tradition. So glad that it is common now.

Fantasy- My Least Favorite Kind

It is a known fact that one of my favorite genres of books is fantasy. Harry Potter and Narnia are the two series that made me learn to love the genre. However, there is one kind of fantasy that is my least favorite. What genre am I referring to?

Dystopian

My least favorite type of fantasy belongs to Dystopian. The society is my least kind of society to like. The books and movies that dystopians I read and/or movies are The Giver, The Hunger Games, Lord of the Flies, etc (don’t know which ones)

Dystopian is usually filled with lots of misery in their societies. You usually want to leave their society. I always to want leave their society pretty quickly or part of it. It usually is hard to describe why I dislike dystopian- unless I describe each one individually.

However, there are have been some exceptions. There might have been some I might read books and/or series I love without knowing they are dystopian.

2023 Goals

I know every year, there are New Year’s Resolutions. But, every year I focus on goals instead. So, what are some of my 2023 goals?

1. Read 10 Books
2. See at least 1 Musical- this year I am seeing Les Mis, Something Rotten, and Aladdin
3. Make more progress on my WIPS (as in outside of the main one)

Unfinished Series to Read

As bookworms, there are two type of books to read. These belong to the standalones and series. Most series fall under the genres of fantasy, sci-fi, and mythology. So, what are the unfinished series I am working on?

Sea of Trolls- Mythology

In 2022, all I have read is the first book. So, now I have own all three books in the trilogy.

Nevermoor- Fantasy

This is a series I fell in love two years ago. I got fascinated it by someone on the blogging world- I forgot who. I was told that Harry Potter fans would love it. The 1st book was like if “Harry Potter students competed to get into Hogwarts”. I loved Morrigan Crow, the staff at the Hotel Decualion, Hawthorne, and Cadence (in the 2nd book). I love Nevermoor’s Halloween and Christmas.

The ONLY reason why Nevermoor isn’t finished is because the other books still haven’t come out.

When It’s Raining

There are several kinds of weather to deal with. One of the most unfortunate of days is when it is bleak and raining outside. However, we still can make the best of a rainy day. So, what can we do on a rainy day?
